What is an intensive?

A psychotherapy intensive is several days of group and individual psychotherapy at once. Intensives can last for as few as two days and last as long as five days. This intensive is overnight, Friday evening through Sunday afternoon and will involve about 8-12 hours daily of psychotherapy, self care, and other healing practices such as yoga and Reiki. Once onsite, clients are not allowed to leave until the intensive is concluded on Sunday.

What is included in price?

The price is $800 per person for the entire weekend, which includes lodging, food, drinks, all clinical and therapeutic services, including group and individual therapy and Reiki. Clients will also receive self care bags ranging in items from face masks, to journals, to vibrators. Lodging will be in a home in the DMV area, location provided once payments are completed for safety. Clients may have an option of a single room (with possible upcharge), but there will be no more than 2 persons per room and rooms will be assigned by Quinn Gee-Edwards, LPC.

Transportation to and from the site is not provided. The max participants will be 6, and providers will not stay onsite.

Who is this for?

This intensive is for Black women who struggle with codependency. This is the second intensive for Black women with codependency that MMH has hosted. The inaugural event took place in October 2018 with four women. After the success of that event, MMH decided to make the intensive annual.

There is no min or max required treatment for codependency and participants do not have to be current clients, however, everyone will be screened for appropriateness upon inquiry. Current MMH clients will receive a discount of 10%. Payment plans available. Final payment due by October 1.
